Magnus Theatre Accessibility Policy
It is the policy of Magnus Theatre that persons with disabilities have full access to the goods and services provided by Magnus Theatre, consistent with the principles of independence, dignity, integration and equality of opportunity as set out in the regulations of the Accessibility for Ontarians With Disabilities Act, 2005.
No Scents Makes Sense
Due to the number of people with allergies, Magnus Theatre strives to be a scent-free theatre. Please avoid using scented products (perfume, cologne, aftershave, strong scented deodorants, etc.) prior to the show.
Service Animals
If a person with a disability is accompanied by a service animal, Magnus Theatre will permit the person to enter the premises with the animal and keep it with them. 'Service Animal' is an animal that is specially trained to assist a person with a disability. A service animal must be readily identifiable and/or patrons may be asked to provide proof. (Please notify the box office at time of booking the performance.)
Support Persons
If a person with a disability is accompanied by a support person, they are permitted to enter the premises together and are not prevented from having access to each other while on the premises. Fees for goods and services are advertised and Magnus Theatre will provide notice of the amount payable at time of booking, if any, in respect of the support person. Please note that Magnus Theatre accepts the Personal Attendant for Leisure (PAL) Card. (Advanced booking is required and Magnus Theatre will make every effort to ensure that the patron and support person are seated together.)
Disruption of Services
If there is a disruption in service Magnus Theatre will make every effort to provide advance notice, however in some circumstances such as a temporary unplanned disruption this may not be possible.
Assistive Devices
If a person with a disability requires assistive devices to access goods or services of Magnus Theatre, they are allowed to use such devices so long as the assistive device does not present a safety concern.
Our Commitment to Accessibility
Magnus Theatre currently has a row of accessible seating, with now steps or obstacles. This includes 4 wheelchair spaces. In addition, both Theatre in Education classrooms, and the rehearsal hall, are accessible by our elevator.
Magnus Theatre has recently installed a Hearing Loop system inside our theatre.
