Covid-19 Update

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING TICKETS

(As of February 18, 2022)

Dear Magnus Patrons,

We are delighted to be able to welcome you back to the theatre for an exciting season of Mainstage programming. The health and safety of our community remains our foremost concern. Below you will find a list of health and safety measures designed with careful consideration to the well-being of our artists, staff, volunteers, and patrons. We thank you for your continued support of Magnus, and we look forward to seeing you at the theatre!

COVID-19 Health and Safety Measures

Magnus Theatre has instituted the following measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. These measures are designed to protect all those who enter the theatre complex. Please review before purchasing your ticket. Thank you for your patience during this challenging time.

*NEW* Proof of Vaccination

Please note that as the provincial government moves to the next steps of the COVID-19 reopening plan, proof of vaccination requirements for indoor venues will be lifted starting March 1, 2022. This means patrons will no longer be required to present vaccination certificates to attend a Mainstage performance. Mask protocols remain in place, and Magnus Theatre continues to follow government directives and will update health and safety protocols as regulations are amended. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

Patron Screening

Do not enter the theatre if you:

  1. Feel unwell and have symptoms of COVID-19;
  2. Have been in close contact with someone currently COVID-19 positive.

Details regarding COVID-19 symptoms and self assessment can be found on the Thunder Bay District Health Unit website.

Mask Protocol

  1. While in the theatre, patrons are required to wear masks at all times, even when seated.
  2. Face shields are not considered a replacement for a mask.
  3. All Magnus staff and volunteers will be wearing masks at all times.

Ticket/Admission Processing

  1. Upon arrival at the theatre, patrons will be queued at a distance from each other outside the Waverley Street entrance. Markers will be in place to help patrons maintain a two-metre buffer from each other.
  2. Patrons are asked to wait outside the building entrance until notified by Magnus staff to enter the theatre complex.
  3. Patron tickets will be processed using touchless scanners at a location immediately inside the entrance doors.

Patron Services

  1. In order to effectively maintain social distancing protocols, the bar and lounge will be open; however, food and drink will not be permitted in the theatre. Food and beverages must be consumed in the lounge.

Seating

  1. Until further notice, the theatre’s seating capacity has been reduced to a maximum of 132 patrons. The patron seating pattern has been designed to keep our audiences as safe as possible.
  2. Patrons must not change their assigned seats as defined by their tickets. Seats are grouped in twos and threes to facilitate compliance with health and safety protocols.
  3. Seating configurations cannot be changed to accommodate specific patron group sizes. Patrons coming to the theatre in parties of three or more may have to be seated separately. Some patrons may be seated directly beside patrons that are not from their groups.

Cleaning

  1. In between show performances, all hard surfaces on seats in the theatre and high touch areas throughout the theatre auditorium, public washrooms and exit and entrance corridors will be wiped down and disinfected with approved COVID sanitizing cleaners.
  2. Hand sanitizer is available at multiple locations throughout the theatre. Each patron will be asked to sanitize their hands before proceeding to the theatre auditorium.
